Wilcox did a fine job of researching the trails and the book is full of historical snippets that the reader may not be aware of. All in all an excellent study of the trails that were an important part of Ohio and U.S. history. Basing his work on the journals and records of early settlers and soldiers, his knowledge of Native American ways, and his intimacy with the Ohio landscape, he locates and documents the major Indian towns and trails that crisscross the state.
